Starting at a very young age, society pushes the idea of boys or girls, forcing children into gender binary stereotypes, such as pink is for girls and blue is for boys. When I was in preschool, I had predetermined notions of what it meant to be in the gender binary forced onto me by society. Society has pushed its binary on us, specifically children, for too long, and now is the time to cut down the binary and live beyond it. Living beyond the binary has given me so much freedom to be who I am and express myself. I hope for a world where we can be whoever and whatever we want to be, but unfortunately, we are not there yet.
