You’ll Be Made of Ashes Too

lamboyán Theatre is kicking off the Fall Season with the world premiere of You’ll Be Made of Ashes Too, a Puerto Rican ghost story by up and coming playwright Baylee Shlichtman.

This horror-comedy focuses on Puerto Rican sisters Evelyn and Liana, who were brought up in California by a mother who was fleeing a broken marriage and who tried to raise the girls as American. The sisters have been estranged for years but are brought together when their mom dies under mysterious circumstances. Evelyn has dedicated her life to taking care of their mom, while Liana has moved across the country, where she works as an archivist. Evelyn resents Liana for both leaving and for their mother’s preference of Liana even though Evelyn stayed behind. These tensions will reignite and intensify in the days after their mother’s death when a spirit begins haunting the sisters.
