Veronica Swift with Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra

Veronica Swift has established herself as one of her generation’s defining voices in jazz. As a child, she toured nationally with her parents—jazz musicians Hod O’Brien and Stephanie Nakasian—appearing at leading clubs and festivals including Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Jazz Standard (NYC), Jazz Showcase (Chicago), and the Telluride Jazz Festival. She recorded her first album at age nine and has since built a career spanning two decades.
Her credits include a second-place finish in the 2015 Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, a twice-yearly residency at Birdland Jazz Club, touring with Chris Botti and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and recording with Jeff Goldblum. Her 2021 album This Bitter Earth earned a five-star review and the cover of DownBeat, and in 2024, she was named a Chevalier in France’s Order of Arts and Letters.
Her 2026 release Home explores themes of loss, identity, and belonging through a wide-ranging repertoire, offering a personal and expansive view of what “home” can mean
