Telluride Theatre presents the critically acclaimed play MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus. With an all-female, gender-bending cast the play is a “mostly true” retelling of John Wesley Powell’s 1869 expedition down the Grand Canyon. Powell, a one-armed captain, and his crew of rag-tag sometimes insane, yet loyal volunteers, set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. A show about adventure, exploration, the not-knowing, claiming things that are not yours and so much more… all through the lens of a female retelling. Ages 13 and up.
