DCPA will host the I AM DENVER Storytelling Lab on Sunday, October 7th from 10:00am-2:00pm.

I AM DENVER Storytelling Lab is a free half-day session with story-inspiring activities for Denver residents to write and record their stories. Each person will participate in a storytelling workshop hosted by DCPA Teaching Artists and one hosted byLighthouse Writers Workshop.  They will then break out into writing rooms for individual and smaller group sessions.  After they have crafted their story, they will move to film, podcast and photography rooms to capture their stories.

This is a community collaboration with the City of Denver, Denver Public Library, History Colorado, Lighthouse Writers, DCPA, Denver Talks and Metro State University.  Rowena Algeria, the Senior Advisor for the Agency of Human Rights and Community Partnerships for the city, is organizing communities and organizations to strategically capture stories of Denver communities.  There will be a series of events and labs throughout the year.

Everyone has a story, including Denver. But our story is not complete without the voices of our people.

This event is FREE and open to the public but an RSVP is requested. Space is limited.
