Around the World in 80 Toys

Details

Venue

Denver native Thaddeus Phillips returns to Buntport with the world premiere of a new solo work that blends theatre, film, micro-cinema and magic — Paris, 1925: in a tiny toy shop inside the Montparnasse train station, forgotten film and special-effects pioneer Georges Méliès faces eviction when a toy comes to life and pulls him into one last epic cinematic voyage. Phillips and 80 eclectic vintage toys star, with co-creation and direction by Colombian director Tatiana Mallarino and illusions by New York magician Steve Cuiffo. The premiere coincides with Buntport’s 25th anniversary and precedes the production’s run at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival’s Summerhall venue. All-ages, with appeal for film aficionados, families and theatregoers.
