Bad Bedtime Stories

We’ve selected the plays and stories for our next One Night Stand Theater production, 𝑩𝑨𝑫 𝑩𝑬𝑫𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑬 𝑺𝑻𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑺! Thank you to all the playwrights and writers who sent in their plays, stories and poems for our April 13th evening of fairy tales and children’s stories revised, modernized and satirized for adults. Here are the seven plays and one short story for our strange world of fantasy:

Little Red Riding Hood gets a lawyer in “𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘆’𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗰𝗸” 𝗯𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻.

Hansel and Gretal prepare themselves for a dark deed in “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲” 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻.

Mother Goose grants wishes at her daughter’s wedding in “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿” 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗨𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱.

While Beauty is away, an unwanted visitor comes calling in “𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁” 𝗯𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱.

A Mysterious Stranger trades food for souls in “𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻” 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗢’𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘆.

Gramps tells the kids a twisted tale in “𝗕𝗲𝗱𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿” 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗯𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗲.

A merman finds himself high and dry in “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲” 𝗯𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱.

There’s more than one way to clean up after a Wicked Witch in “𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗯 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗨𝗽” 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱.
