Cleo Parker Robinson Dance kicks off its fall season with a dance journey through the Caribbean, tracing the African Diaspora’s influence on the cultures of the Bahamas, Cuba, Venezuela and Mexico. The program features two world premieres — “Junkanoo: Passage of Time” by National Dance Company of the Bahamas Artistic Director Robert Bain II, and “We Weep as We Leave: We Are Each Other’s Home” by CPRD alum Gary Abbott — alongside live music from Ritmo Jazz Latino/Conjunto Colores. The CPRD Ensemble, Cleo II and guest artists from the National Dance Company of the Bahamas share the stage for the two-performance run.
