Embers, Petals & Stars

In the Wings premieres Embers, Petals, & Stars, an original evening-length aerial dance production that weaves together three deeply personal stories through movement, flight, and emotion. Performances will be held at the Elaine Wolf Theatre
Directed by Fallon Voorheis-Mathews, Embers, Petals, & Stars invites audiences into an immersive theatrical experience that explores grief, resilience, memory, and transformation through a powerful blend of aerial and contemporary dance. Presented in a full theater setting, each act uses aerial apparatus, music, and choreography to tell a unique story:
● Act I: Fire.Ashes.Rebirth. — Inspired by the Marshall Fire, this act explores devastation, survival, and the determination to rebuild what was lost.
● Act II: Under This Tree — A meditation on impermanence and grace, rooted in the quiet beauty of a cherry blossom tree.
● Act III: This is the Way — A Star Wars–inspired journey through myth, identity, and rebellion, reimagined in the air.
With original choreography and a cast of multidisciplinary performers, Embers, Petals, & Stars bridges the gap between circus and concert dance, offering a visceral and emotionally resonant experience for audiences of all backgrounds.
