Hold These Truths

Platte Valley Theatre Arts (PVTA) presents the regional premiere of Hold These Truths by Jeanne Sakata, a powerful and timely one-man play based on the true story of Gordon Hirabayashi, the Japanese American college student who courageously challenged the constitutionality of the U.S. government’s internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
Starring Rob Payo and directed by Kelly Van Oosbree, Hold These Truths explores themes of justice, conscience, and moral courage in the face of fear and prejudice. Through Hirabayashi’s extraordinary journey, the play asks urgent questions about civil liberties, citizenship, and what it means to stand up for one’s principles—questions that continue to resonate today.
