ICONS Benefit Show for the Colorado Springs LGBTQIA+ community
March 18, 2024 @ 7:00 pm
| $29ICONS Benefit Show at Hamburger Mary’s (1336 East 17th Avenue, Denver, CO 80218) on Monday, March 18, 2024, will be a night filled with fantastic drag, live music and burlesque performances, raising funds for the revival of the cherished establishment.
The doors open at 6:00 PM, with the show kicking off at 7:00 PM. Attendees can expect a night filled with laughter, love, and solidarity.
After the tragic closing of Club Q in 2022 and then the heartbreaking closure of ICONS after a nearby fire in December 2023, Colorado Springs is left with no gay bars. ICONS owners / husbands / Broadway performers, Josh Franklin and John T. Wolfe, refuse to let their dream die.
Determined to reopen in a new location, Franklin and Wolfe have launched a GoFundMe campaign, already achieving over one-third of their goal, including a generous donation from Gloria Estefan.
ICONS, which opened its doors in 2020, quickly became a beacon of acceptance and celebration for the LGBTQIA+ community in Colorado Springs. Its significance as a safe queer space and celebrated live music venue cannot be overstated, and its absence has left a void in the hearts of many.
The ICONS Benefit Show promises to be an unforgettable evening, hosted by Kai Lee Mykels and showcasing the talents of Denver and Colorado Springs drag, theater and cabaret stars: Abby McInerney, America Jackson, Angela Heart, Anne Terze-Schwarz, Ayana Knonaas, B. Glick, Belzin Whistlez, Bender Flames, Bryce Baxter, Elio Nova Wolfe, Gina Milne, Jake Bell, Jalyn Webb, Janae Hansen, Jeremy Rill, Jonathan San Agustin, Mark Autry, Nolan Baker, Ryan Miller, Sam Barrasso, Zachary Janzen, members of the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and ICON owners / Broadway Performers – Josh Franklin and John T. Wolfe themselves.
