June 13- Aug. 2

Fearing that Julius Caesar, upon his triumphant return to Rome, would seize absolute power, Rome’s elite conspired to assassinate him. After Caesar’s death at the hands of his friend Brutus, his successor, Mark Antony, expelled the conspirators from Rome and defeated them in battle, thereby securing his rule. This production delves into the insidious effects of patriarchy, while Shakespeare’s portrayal of ambition, power, and betrayal creates a unsettling parallel between ancient Rome and contemporary culture.
