Pride in Place

We are celebrating Pride month this year in the most Colorado way we know how – through live music! Jefferson County Public Library and the Arvada Center are partnering to present Pride In Place, a country bluegrass event that celebrates LGBTQ+ musicians in the Main Stage Theatre on June 12. Admission is free – and a ticket is required to attend.
“Pride In Place is another fantastic opportunity for the Jefferson County Public Library and the Arvada Center to team up and bring an exciting and entertaining cultural experience to the community,” said Jefferson County Public Library’s Programming Coordinator Sean Eads. “Bluegrass and country music is popular and an important artistic thread in the nation’s fabric. Showcasing dynamic and local LGTBQ+ contributions to these genres demonstrates Colorado’s vibrancy and leadership in emerging cultural trends and creative expression.”
Bluegrass, country and Americana music is for everybody, regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, nationality, upbringing, or politics. Celebrate the rich tradition of Colorado bluegrass music with this special Pride concert – featuring Colorado musicians Amy Martin, Trace & Beard, Morgan Harris, and Summers and Rosales. Each group explores themes of place, pride, sexuality, identity and love through their Americana and bluegrass performances.
Free – but you must RSVP
