Rough Draught Playwrights Theatrical Playground

Rough Draught Playwrights Theatrical Playground returns with its reboot at Ballyhoo Table & Stage in LoHi. The evening features open mic slots for playwrights to try out new work, the One Minute Monologue Challenge where writers receive a prompt and have one hour to write and a half-hour to rehearse with an actor before performing, a new Artist Interview segment celebrating production partners including stage managers, technical directors and designers in an onstage discussion of craft and process, and Rough Writers, a new community writing experience where everyone contributes to a group creation with no preparation necessary. The event provides opportunities for socializing and connecting with the Colorado theatre community. Food and drink available for purchase at the Ballyhoo café and bar. Online signups for open mic slots open Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. for identified playwrights.
