Set in The Bronx at The Aardvark Club in 1935, known for its vibrant atmosphere and eclectic entertainment, has a storyline of its own unfolding within its walls. Meet hard-working Honey, who has worn nearly every hat you can wear from slinging drinks and cooking the books, but at the end of the day, she dazzles as a stripper.

Enter Zack, who’s hard to miss at the club – an aspiring and regular comic. He’s got some talent, but one ill-fated joke lands him in hot water with Aardvark proprietor, Frankie Palmeri. Why? The joke was about Frankie’s girl, no less, and Frankie is not exactly known for his sense of humor. With one more job to juggle, Honey steps into help Zack cook up a new act for an audience of one. But how will he go over? As they say in comedy; “You either kill, or you just die up there.”

“Last Call at the Aardvark takes the audience through the twists and turns of how one bad joke can ruin everything,” said Paul Stroili. “I’m thrilled to continue to partner with the team at Miners Alley and bring this exciting new play to the Denver metro area!”

Proceeds from this special event will go towards supporting the Denver Actors Fund, a vital resource for members of the local theatre community facing unforeseen medical expenses and financial hardships. By attending this staged reading, patrons not only enjoy an evening of exceptional theatre but also contribute to a worthy cause.
