Plus, the standing-O conundrum and this week’s Top 10 Colorado Headliners
In this week’s episode of the OnStage Colorado Podcast, hosts Alex Miller and Toni Tresca talk Wicked — an early look on the new film version of the popular, long-running musical. Toni got to see an early press screening and says the film delivers pretty well on the promise of translating the musical to the silver screen. This film includes only the first act of the musical; the second half will be in another film released sometime in the future.
Also, cuing off a piece in the New York Times, we get into the ever-popular topic of standing ovations. Are they being overused? Do you have to stand even if you weren’t utterly wowed by the show? And is clapping while you head for the doors a dick move?
