A collaboration between Control Group Productions and Diego Florez-Arroyo, Cuauhtémoczin is a magical realism prison drama intertwining the legacy of the ancient Aztec emperor Cuauhtemoc and the fight for liberation in the modern day American prison system. Follow Dante’s return to self as he navigates life in and out of incarceration.

Following the successful workshopping of Cuauhtémoczin through the Emerging BIPOC Playwright Program created in collaboration with Flamboyán Theater, Control Group is thrilled to produce the world-premiere of Cuauhtémoczin.

Through a captivating multimedia performance, Cuauhtémoczin journeys through a return to self in the darkest of isolation; leaving audiences in awe and connecting them with a glimpse of Aztec culture and their own warrior spirit.
