American Addict: A Devised Piece written and directed by Jennifer McCray Rincon with the Visionbox Ensemble is a new performance piece addressing the current crisis of drug and alcohol addiction in our community and the nation as a whole. By interviewing addicts in recovery, their friends and family, healthcare workers and professionals, and by studying the disease of addiction in depth, Visionbox Studio has devised a compelling new intermedia performance piece. Our primary purpose is to create a dialogue about this wide-spread epidemic, while also removing the stigma and shame that keeps so many addicts from finding true recovery.
