1997 in Athens, Georgia: Marie Cauliff gives tours of her childhood home, which is notorious for being the site of a series of grisly murders committed in the 19th century. While working with her brother to juggle the tours as well as their father’s sudden illness, Marie must delve into the fog of her own childhood memories when she finds that her brother doesn’t remember “Uncle Gray,” a mysterious and unexplained presence from her childhood. This thoughtful and foreboding horror tale by previous Counterweight favorite Soren Narnia is adapted for the stage for the first time here. Intimate and unsettling, The Copper Cup tells a story of family, fear, and how well we can trust our own memories.

Performed at and in partnership with Boucher Art & Stage (328 N Nevada Ave).
