THE ESTATE SALE is an immersive art and theatrical installation conceived of by Brad Ramsey in collaboration with The Catamounts; written and directed by Josh Hartwell; and produced in partnership The People’s Building of Aurora.
THE ESTATE SALE explores the relationship between objects and personal history, and the blurred line between identity and expression.
Visual artist Brad Ramsey has served as one of the primary artists on Camp Christmas, the DCPA’s immersive holiday installation that serves tens of thousands of audience members each year. In THE ESTATE SALE, Ramsey will create a more personal, intimate, interactive visual art piece, enhanced with theatrical elements written and directed by Josh Harwell and created with The Catamounts and guest artists.
THE ESTATE SALE’s accompanying story will be told through letters, journals, home videos, voice mail recordings, and other theatrical elements, which the audience unearths.
Inspired by the history of the People’s Building as a former furniture store and the antique shops lining Colfax Avenue, all of the art and objects in the installation will be available for purchase, to be brought home once the installation closes.
