Theatreworks Colorado Springs Celebrates Golden Anniversary with Five-Show Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – April 15, 2025 – Theatreworks Colorado Springs marks its 50th anniversary with the announcement of its 2025-2026 season. The upcoming season will feature a mix of classics and contemporary works.

“For 50 years, Theatreworks has been a home for extraordinary theatre,” said interim director David Dahlin. “This season is a celebration of everything we love about theatre.”

The 2025-2026 season includes:

CABARET – September 18-October 12, 2025
Directed by Scott RC Levy of the Green Box Arts Festival, this production of the Tony Award-winning musical features a three-piece band in an intimate setting.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST – November 28-December 21, 2025
Oscar Wilde’s comedy returns under the direction of Kathryn Walsh, featuring Birgitta DePree as Lady Bracknell.

WHERE WE STAND – January 29-February 15, 2026
Colorado debut of Donetta Lavinia Grays’ one-person play directed by Marisa Hébert.

ROMEO AND JULIET – April 9-May 3, 2026
New Artistic Director Max Shulman directs Shakespeare’s tragedy, honoring Theatreworks’ first Shakespeare production from 1976.

THE GARBOLOGISTS – June 11-June 28, 2026
Lindsay Joelle’s comedy about two sanitation workers, directed by GerRee Hinshaw.
