The Truth About 250-150

Details

Organizer

An Indigenous-led mobile museum touring Colorado throughout summer 2026, The Truth About 250-150 is a truth-telling intervention created by Wakáška Yuza and Control Group Productions in response to Colorado’s 150th anniversary and the nation’s 250th. Housed in a renovated school bus, cargo trailer, tipi and shade tent, the immersive exhibit confronts the legacy of the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre and ongoing impacts of colonization through murals, installations, youth-created art, audio, video and somatic healing practices. The 30-45 minute self-guided experience is free and open to the public, with audio tours tailored to Native, European-descent and other visitors. The tour makes stops in Ignacio, Montrose, Trinidad, Carbondale, Center and Colorado Springs.
