From Bas Bleu:
As many of you may know, we lost a beloved member of the Bas Bleu family, Deb Note-Farwell, on August 11. Deb and her husband, Jonathan, began our Readers’ Theatre program and ran it for more than 10 years. She also performed in numerous Mainstage shows and directed several others. Deb’s mighty spirit made an enormous impact on all who knew her or had the privilege of working with her in the various theatres in our community and beyond. We are deeply grateful for all the joy, tears and laughter she shared on stage and off during her years in Fort Collins.
There will be a memorial at the Lincoln Center on Wednesday, September 19. Doors open at 5:30 and the service begins at 6 p.m.
Here are links to Deb’s obituary, the lovely tribute by John Moore, the Channel 9 News story, and the article in the Coloradoan.
Deb was an accomplished musical theatre actor, and singing was her passion. In celebration of Deb and her love of music, storytelling, and theatre, on Saturday, October 27th at 7:30 p.m., Bas Bleu will present “Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong in An Evening of Song, History, and Anecdotes” performed by Rekha Ohal and Leonard Barrett Jr.
Come raise a glass to Deb, and join Rekha and Leonard on the Tom Sutherland stage as they salute two of the most iconic singers of the 20th century with songs like:
- A Tisket A Tasket
- A Train
- Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
- Bill Bailey
- Mack the Knife and more!
Tickets are $22. All proceeds will go to the Deb Note-Farwell Memorial Fund at the Northern Colorado Community Foundation in support of Bas Bleu’s Mainstage and Readers’ Theatre artists.
