Benchmark Theatre announces the regional premiere of Meteor Shower by comedian and musician, Steve Martin. It will be the 2nd production to their 2021/2022 season as they return to live programming after a year and a half of dormancy due to COVID. It is scheduled to be performed at Benchmark’s home theatre at The Bench at 40West (1560 Teller St, Lakewood, CO 80214).
The 2021/2022 season is themed “Aftermath” with all pieces to be announced as a response to the period of dormancy the theatre and all other cultural organizations endured due to the pandemic and subsequent shutdown.

Corky and Norm are excited to host Gerald and Laura at their home in the valley outside Los Angeles to watch a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower. But as the stars come out and the conversation gets rolling, it becomes clear that Gerald and Laura might not be all that they appear to be. Over the course of a crazy, starlit dinner party, the wildly unexpected occurs. The couples begin to flirt and insanity reigns. Martin, using his trademark absurdist humor, bends the fluid nature of time and reality to create a surprising and unforgettably funny new play.
Please note that this production is for ages 13 and up.
The cast features Corey Exline, Damon Guerrasio, Colleen Lee and Jeffrey Parker.
In addition to director Warren Sherrill, the creative team includes Katie Hopwood (Stage Manager), Tina Anderson (Scenic Designer), Neil Truglio (Light Designer), John Hauser (Sound Designer), Erika Daun (Costume Designer) and producers Abby Apple Boes & Haley Johnson.
