Miners Alley unveils 2027 season of comedy, suspense and mystery

Jeff Daniels’ Pickleball, Wait Until Dark and Always… Patsy Cline headline a five-show lineup at the Golden theatre.

Miners Alley Performing Arts Center in Golden has announced its 2027 season, a five-show lineup mixing comedy, suspense, music and mystery, plus a holiday production to be announced at a later date. Season subscriptions go on sale to the public Aug. 27; current subscribers can renew now.

Here’s the lineup:

Pickleball by Jeff Daniels | Jan. 29-March 7

A regional premiere comedy set on a pickleball court, following the rivalries and relationships among a group of players. The play is written by Jeff Daniels, an Emmy Award-winning actor and founder of Michigan’s Purple Rose Theatre Company.

Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher | April 9-May 16

A suspense thriller set in wartime Greenwich Village, in which a blind woman becomes the target of criminals searching for a missing doll hidden in her apartment.

Always… Patsy Cline, created and originally directed by Ted Swindley | June 4-Aug. 1

A musical drawn from the real-life friendship between country singer Patsy Cline and fan Louise Seger, featuring more than two dozen of Cline’s songs, including “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Walkin’ After Midnight.”

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery by Ken Ludwig | Aug. 20-Sept. 12

A comedic adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles, in which five actors play more than 40 roles as Holmes and Watson investigate the case.

The Seafarer by Conor McPherson | Oct. 1-Nov. 7

Set on Christmas Eve in Dublin, the play follows a group of old friends gathered for cards and drinks when an unexpected guest arrives with a claim that turns the evening toward the supernatural.

Miners Alley has not yet announced the title of its 2027 holiday show.

“You can come one night and laugh at the competitive chaos of Pickleball, then come back for a completely different experience with the suspense of Wait Until Dark or the music and heart of Always… Patsy Cline,” said Len Matheo, producing artistic director at Miners Alley. “We want every show to give audiences a reason to gather, connect and experience a great story together.”
