COVID prompts theatre to not renew its lease in Denver

Bitsy Stage, one of Denver’s beloved children’s theatres, announced is closing its doors for good. The accompanying adult theatre, Betsy Stage, is similarly impacted. Here’s the email from the theatre that went out Nov. 5:

To all of the friends, fans, actors and technical experts who have shared in the joy of the Bitsy Stage over the years,

It is with heavy hearts that we write to you today to tell you that we are closing our doors for good. In the shadow of Coronavirus, we decided not to renew our lease when it is up in December. Through the BiTSY Stage we have cherished the chance to share with you and your children the beautiful, amazing world in which we live. Telling stories from all of those faraway lands was both a privilege and a pleasure.

As you may know we are currently running ‘Being Here’ through November 22nd. Shows are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7:30pm – please check out BetsyStage.com for tickets and more information (including an opportunity to have a VIP Performance). This will be our last production in the space that we have held since 2010, and truly hope we can see you there for one last hurrah!

With love and hope we wish you all well,

The BiTSY Stage
