Streaming show opens Nov. 25 at Golden theatre
Miners Alley Playhouse will feature a one-woman, holiday show to close out 2020, The Twelve Dates of Christmas, written by Gina Hoben and directed by Kate Gleason.
After seeing her fiancé kiss another woman at the televised Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mary’s life falls apart — just in time for the holidays.
Over the next year, she stumbles back into the dating world, where “romance” ranges from weird and creepy to absurd and comical. It seems nothing can help Mary’s growing cynicism, until the charm and innocence of a five-year-old boy unexpectedly brings a new outlook on life and love. This heartwarming one-woman play offers a hilarious and modern alternative to the old standards of the holiday season.
The featured actor is Candace Joice. You may have seen her here in District Merchants as Portia (Henry nominee, best actress) and in You Can’t Take It With You as Alice. Other credits include Siobhan in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center; Gloria and Nan in Gloria at Curious Theatre; Lizzy in Pride and Prejudice (Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company); Abby in Belleville and Carol in Oleanna (Progressive Theatre); and Mother in The Oldest Boy (Vintage Theatre).
The Twelve Dates of Christmas opens November 25 and runs through December 19, 2020 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. Streaming Tickets available soon by calling 303-935-3044 or online at www.minersalley.com. Miners Alley Playhouse is located at 1224 Washington Avenue. Golden, CO 80401.
