DCPA Cabaret’s ‘Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors,’ SoL Theatre Company’s ‘Cabaret’ and Firehouse Theatre’s ‘Alabama Story’ round out the top of a deep field; Colorado Theatre Guild lifetime achievement honoree to be named later in June.

The Colorado Theatre Guild announced nominees for the 20th annual Henry Awards, with Lone Tree Arts Center’s production of Nice Work If You Can Get It getting 17 nominations — by far the most of any single production this year.

Directed by Kate Gleason and choreographed by Christopher Page-Sanders, the Gershwin-fueled musical scored nods in every major design category and accounted for six of the 11 Featured Performance in a Musical Tier 1 nominees. It also lands in the running for Outstanding Production of a Musical and Outstanding Ensemble Performance.

Close behind is DCPA Cabaret’s Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, which racked up 11 nominations including Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Direction of a Play (Gordon Greenberg) and five of the 10 Featured Performance in a Play Tier 1 slots. Two productions tie for third with 10 nominations apiece: Stage of Life (SoL) Theatre Company’s Cabaret, directed and choreographed by Luke Ryan, and Firehouse Theatre Company’s Alabama Story, which swept Tier 2 acting categories.

Two performers appeared in both of the top-nominated shows: the married couple Adriane Leigh Robinson and Marco Alberto Robinson both appeared in Nice Work If You Can Get It and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. Both picked up nominations for each — landing in Performance in a Musical Tier 1 for the former and Featured Performance in a Play Tier 1 for the latter.

Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company’s Cry It Out earned a nomination for Outstanding Production of a Play, alongside Bas Bleu’s Another Medea, Creede Repertory’s Silent Sky and two Denver Center Theatre Company entries. BETC also picked up three additional nods for Brooklyn Laundry.

Five productions tied at five nominations each: Come From Away (Arvada Center), Birthday Candles (Curious), The Mousetrap (Arvada Center), Bonnie & Clyde (Bright Heart Stages) and The Bridges of Madison County (Platte Valley Theatre Arts).

Performance and design categories are split across two tiers this year, each yielding two recipients per tier. The lifetime achievement honoree will be announced later in June.

The Colorado Theatre Guild’s 20th Annual Henry Awards will take place on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities
