Six playwrights, six directors and 24 actors will create six brand-new plays in a single day
Curious Theatre Company will host The 24 Hour Plays Denver on July 10, a one-night creative marathon where six playwrights, six directors and 24 actors collaborate to write, rehearse and stage six brand-new plays in just 24 hours.
This year’s event reunites last year’s cohort of playwrights: Edith Weiss, Curious artistic company member Josh Hartwell, Steven J. Burge, Luke Sorge, Kenya Mahogany Fashaw and David Nehls. They’ll once again start from a blank page overnight and have their work performed in front of an audience the next evening.
The Denver edition is presented in partnership with The 24 Hour Plays, the international organization that’s been producing this format around the world since 1995. The event doubles as a fundraiser for Curious.
It’s also a milestone night for the company: the July 10 performance will be the final show in Curious’ current home at 1080 Acoma Street before upcoming renovations to the space.
